Yesteryear Collection

Buoyed by the success of the 1-75 series, Lesney Products introduced the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" in 1956. This series became one of the best known and coveted die-cast collections of all time. Each model was issued in a larger matchbox than the 1-75 vehicles to accommodate slightly larger models. The very first Models of Yesteryear edition was the Y1-1 1925 Allchin Tractor Engine, which is among the most sought after Matchbox models. This vintage model featured a green body and chassis, dark red 16-spoke wheels, crimped axles, gold painted boiler door, gold painted trim and a 6-spoke black flywheel.

To commemorate the very first replica in the famed Models of Yesteryear series, matchbox Collectibles presents a die-cast tractor trailer bearing front, rear, right and left side view of the Y1-A 1925 Allchin Tractor Engine (the A refers to the type of box the model came in which, in this case, featured a line drawing of the trailer - decorated with the rear view of the Tractor Engine - open and close. The handsomely decorated trailer, which has a fully articulated under chassis and spare tire - lifts off the tractor and can stand alone on retractable legs. Decorated with the Matchbox Collectibles logo, the tractor is a precise replica of a 1956 MACK B-61. One of the most rugged trucks ever, it was manufactured the same year as the 1956 Y1-A 1925 Allchin Tractor Engine. The cab is crafted with dual fuel tanks, mounted horns and exhaust pipes, the Bulldog hood ornament, red cast iron wheel details and air starter ignition system.
